Enlivenment

There is a long genealogy unfolding in our flesh and blood, coming down through the eons of the generations and needing a wider future to bloom through all of us.  At the first nuclear event, the light and heat of the Big Birth exploded life in the cosmos. Eyes along the edges of the cosmos radiate out from the central pupil, the one all-seeing eye.  A multitude of undiscovered beings and our hoped for consciousness are yet to come.

Eyes on the periphery are helping us to see that what we see is seeing us.  The being that is to come reflects back and takes in all that is and was and is to come.  Enlivenment is the cosmic consciousness of being alive that moves through cellular life, plant life, animal life, human and superhuman life inside a vast pool of possibilities.  The spiritual world is developing moral behaviors, ethical values, religious sentiments and symbols capable of carrying this awareness and offering insights to transform what is into what will be.

Religion is an intuitive sense of belonging to the divine creativity, responding to that awakening, bonding to an ultimate source that indwells and transcends the present.  Prayer is born as a grateful response to the wellspring of life in anticipation of more.  Look beyond the limits of life as it is to an indestructible beauty and goodness that attracts you out of yourself.
