Pearl of Light in the Hand of Quan Âm

Chinese Buddhist devotional schools teach that Guanyin is
the source of unconditional love and salvation. In schools of Buddhism that are
not devotional, Guanyin is venerated as the spirit of mercy, love and
compassion. She remains a popular figure and is ubiquitous in new religious
movements throughout Asia. Several large
temples in Asia are dedicated to Guanyin and more than a third of the tallest
statues in the world built are depictions of her surpassed only by statues of
Buddha.
