Acceptance

Patronage of Mary over the Order
In January 1922 Rev. Madre Teresa Meyer and Hna. M. Josefina Veloz, Superior of the Colegío in Tlapan, received two beatas, Madre Bernarda and Madre Angela to discern together if affiliation was mutually agreeable.  After learning in greater detail about the regular daily spiritual exercises and prayers, the beatas realized just how big the transition to the Third Order would be.  Madre Teresa taught them the principles of meditation, the prayers for morning, evening and night, the Divine Office and the Dominican Office of the Virgin Mary.  They reported all this to the rest of the members of the beaterio.  Six of the  twelve beatas in residence signed a formal request to join the Congregation of the Queen of Holy Rosary in California on October 15, 1923 .[1]  Madre Teresa interviewed each of them individually and arrangements were made for the needs of each. On January 6, 1924 the six companions professed final vows as members of the Congregation of the Queen of the Holy Rosary.  Sister Benita Madrano, formerly a lay sister, was sent to the novitiate under the direction of Mother Mary Pius Marbaise along with seven younger companions Enriqueta Gazano, Anunciata Cervantes, Benigna Bárcena, Albertina Ortega, Rosario Aguerrebere and Caridad, Magdalena and Dolores Gutiérrez. In this way the beatas of San Miguel came under the patronage of Mary over the Order. [2] Sister María Almaguer was named the first Superior of the new community.
