The Big Birth

We anticipate God's fullness of love and remember companions we met along the way who reminded us to be alert for the greater fullness that is to come.  What was promised is already emerging.  We are called to birth God in our personal being by pausing and contemplating, wondering about what is dawning in the cosmos that we can only glimpse from afar.

It takes a cosmos to birth the fullness of God.  What is growing and blossoming inside the womb of the cosmos that bears forth divine love and justice?  Here is an icon of the "big birth" to replace the distorted one of a "big bang" in the eye of your heart.  The ongoing birthing of being that began long, long ago and continues to be born before us in each moment.

Can you see it from a bottomless depth?  A profoundly infinite womb full of latent possibilities for life, atomic matter, evolving cultures, interwoven strands of DNA bringing forth multi-gendered hominids, new economies, technologies, spiritual lineages, a universal unwinding coming into fullness of being.  Each of us is a unique and valued part of this creative unfurling spiral inside the divine birthing.  The ongoing cosmic adventure is an endlessly bountiful outpouring of divine gifts.

Listen.  I hear the sound of the great cosmic birthing dance, the cries of pain and joy resonating within the full realization of God's life and love. Can you hear it now?
