People sometimes get trapped reliving the circumstances of their wounding over and over again. This causes repeated trauma to the soul. You can navigate through the dark night by forgiving yourself and whoever who caused the wound. This is not an easy task, but you can rely upon the graces of Pentecost to help you. The key is to develop self-esteem and replace any craving for sympathy with the true desire to help others.
Do you relish the pity of others? Which is more fulfilling—to give or to receive compassion? Write down one way you can use your gifts and talents to help others.
